Debate Students Garner National Success
Congratulations to our students who competed in the National Speech and Debate Association (NSDA) Tournament and were named to the state and national teams.
In June, several Greenhill students represented the school at the National Speech and Debate Association (NSDA) Tournament, the largest academic competition in the world, featuring more than 1,200 schools from across the U.S. and participants from 10 countries. Greenhill was recognized with the prestigious Debate School of Excellence Award, honoring the team’s outstanding overall performance. Individual and team highlights included:
STATE AND NATIONAL TEAMS The National Speech & Debate Association (NSDA) is the largest speech and debate organization in the world, representing more than 140,000 students across 3,000 high schools. Among its many initiatives, the NSDA sponsors both the USA Debate National Team and the USA Development Team. These highly selective teams are comprised of outstanding students from across the country who earn membership through a rigorous application process. Team members compete nationally and internationally. This year, Sarah Koshy ’26 was selected to the USA Debate National Team, and Marleigh Massoud ’28 was selected to the USA Development Team. Both will represent the United States in competitions against the best student debaters from around the globe. In addition, the Texas Forensic Association (TFA) sponsors Team Texas, a statewide honor that brings together sixteen of the top student debaters each year from across the state. Arhaan Iyer ’28 has been selected to this year’s team and will represent Texas (and Greenhill) in upcoming competitions. Congratulations to all our Debate students! We are looking forward to what is in store for the 2025-2026 school year. |
