On behalf of the faculty and administration, greetings and welcome to our new Upper School families! I am excited to meet each of you, our newest members of the community, over the next several weeks.

In fact, please save the date of Saturday, May 2, when we welcome all our new Upper School families to our New Family Placement Testing Day, where you get more detailed information about scheduling, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities available in the 2026-2027 school year.

As you have seen throughout the admissions process, the Upper School provides a diverse set of offerings for every student to explore, discover their passions, and then dive further into those areas of interest. Whether you are excited to perform on the main stage in Rose Hall, to access state-of-the-art opportunities in the STEM + Innovation Center, or to take advantage of the new Athletic Performance Center now under construction, there is something for every member of this community!

It’s an exciting time to be at Greenhill, and we are so happy you have chosen to join this wonderful community. Welcome and see you soon!

Preparing for the School Year

Orientation Recap & Make-Up Testing
Thank you to everyone who spent May 2 with us at our New Family Orientation and Placement Testing. If you could not attend or want a refresher, view our recap of the day with documents and to-dos here.

If your student was unable to take their placement test, we have make-up opportunities at 8:30 am on May 20 and May 21 and in the afternoon on June 2 (exact time TBD). Please email Rebecca Shuman to schedule a placement exam or for additional information.
Request for Student Records
Please be sure to fill out the US Request for Student Records form (linked here (page 15) and was a hard copy in the packet) and take it to your student’s current school before the end of the year. That way, their current records will be sent to us in a timely manner.
PAST DUE: Course Requests
Please complete your course requests as outlined in the May 1 email from Darcy Rosa, our MS/US Registrar, as soon as possible (the deadline was May 8). Our course catalog is also a great resource for more information about any course. If you have any questions about scheduling, please reach out to Mrs. Darcy Rosa.
PAST DUE: Advisory Snapshots

Parents/guardians and students should each fill out the Advisory Snapshot by May 25. This is important information that will help us place your student into an advisory with an adult who best matches the characteristics identified in the snapshots.

PAST DUE: Home Address Verification
Please verify your home address in MyGreenhill. View detailed instructions here. This is for our textbook program, which ships textbooks directly to your home in early August. For those moving to our area, if you don’t expect to have your permanent address by mid-July, please feel free to use the Greenhill School address, and the textbooks will be sent to campus.
PAST DUE: Health Forms

Please help us provide the best care possible for your students by submitting your health information on time. Student Health & Medical Eligibility Form: The physical examination must be completed by a physician and uploaded to MyGreenhill.

PAST DUE: MyGreenhill Portal Tasks

Please login to the MyGreenhill portal to complete the following tasks:

1. Enter your student's Emergency Contact Information in their MyGreenhill profile on the Contact Card. Please note that you will have to complete this step for every new Greenhill student in a family. Due May 1.

2. Upload your Parent/Guardian Photo in your MyGreenhill profile on the Contact Card. Due May 1. Please note: This photo will be used on your parent/guardian badge for the 2026-2027 school year. To help ensure easy identification, please upload a recent, clear photo of just yourself from the waist up, such as a headshot.

3. Complete the Conditions and Allergies Form found in MyGreenhill. You will need to click the yellow bar at the top of the page to access it. Due May 1.

4. Upload your student's Immunization Document using the Immunization form found in MyGreenhill. You will need to click the yellow bar at the top of the page to access it. Due May 1.

5. Complete the Grandparent/Special Friend Information Form found in MyGreenhill. You will need to click the yellow bar at the top of the page to access it. Due May 1.

Summer Sports Performance

Our Sports Performance team hopes to see your student-athlete at their summer sessions. This time offers staff dedicated time to work with students to build, improve, and strengthen the skills and habits that foster a culture of sustained success. Everyone is welcome, no matter what your fitness level, extracurricular interests, or seasonal sport is.

Students interested in participating in Upper School athletics must attend a minimum of 15 sports performance sessions during their preseason. Please email your fall or winter head coach to find out when your preseason requirements start. Find head coach email addresses here.

We encourage students to sign up using this Sign-Up Genius link for planning purposes, but if the slots are full, students can still attend.

Summer sessions are Monday to Thursday, from June 1 to July 30, with the following timeslots:

  • 6:30 – 8:30 am: Upper School Session #1
  • 7:30 – 9:30 am: Upper School Session #2
  • 8:30 – 10:30 am: JV & Varsity Football
  • 9:30 – 11:30 am: Upper School Session #3

Please note: The High Performance Center (located in the Phillips Family Athletic Center) is closed July 5-9. View a campus map here.

Note: Student Health & Medical Eligibility forms must be completed before your student can participate in these sessions.

Resources
Technology

At Greenhill, we have a 1:1 device program for students in prekindergarten through twelfth grade. Fifth through twelfth grades are issued a laptop to use throughout the school year. Students are expected to use their Greenhill-issued device for all their Greenhill work. Because we want to ensure the devices our students use support learning in the classroom, the cost of classroom technology is incorporated into tuition.
